Everyone wants to know how Sauces 'n Love started? Behind the business and inspired by a love story was a Weekly Menu -and a culinary dream. In 1999, in Brookline, Massachusetts Paolo & Tessa were cooking and entertaining for friends and family. Being Italian, Paolo cooked pasta nightly as a first course. His sauces were fresh, simple and a joy to share. People started asking if Paolo could make extra sauce the next time he cooked and if they could buy them to enjoy in their own homes. Naturally the idea seed was watered and began to blossom. |

From this humble beginning, a business plan and packaging were developed (thinking beyond the ingredients was essential to create reusable packaging), a weekly menu was created and fresh flavors were available for daily delivery in the neighborhood! A gift of a meal delivered free to your door - only $5 per jar with fresh pasta available. People started ordering daily (friends started eating at home!) - and they all fell 'n Love with Sauces 'n Love! |

| People told people of their new found love and interest grew quickly; a commercial kitchen was opened after retail sales began in local gourmet markets to which Paolo & Tessa owe thanks for the chance to start to build their culinary dream. Today Sauces 'n Love and Scarpetta fresh homemade products are still created daily in house at the HAACP and certified (Superior 3rd Party Audited) headquarters located in Union Square, Somerville, Massachusetts and sold nationally in specialty food markets. And yes, Paolo still makes sauces for pasta from scratch, at home for the first course of any meal with family and friends. |

Dogs in the Park. An American girl. An Italian boy. Love, friends, and well…pasta sauce. It was a beautiful autumn day in Brookline, MA. A girl was walking her dog in the park. She overheard a man say in Italian to his friends, “Guarda la tipa rosa.” They looked, and so did she - at him. She responded in Italian, “Parla con me, non di me.” (If you want to speak to me, do so, but not about me.”) They were startled. He asked her if she spoke Italian, she said that one shouldn’t be so arrogant to think that he, being foreign, is the only one in America who could speak Italian. |

| She called the dog and left the park. In an instant, somehow she just knew, that was the man she was meant to marry. She called her girlfriend immediately upon her arrival home and recounted the incident at the park. It was love at first sight. She needed a while to digest it. She avoided the park for the next week, wondering and hoping, but not quite sure if she was dreaming this whole thing up. She decided that the next Saturday she would go to the park again with the dog, early though, and if it was meant to be, he would be there. Saturday morning came and she went. As she turned to enter the park, she saw him in the distance, sitting on the bench with his dog. It seemed as though he was waiting. Turns out, he was - everyday that week. When she approached, he asked, “Where have you been, I’ve been waiting?” “Busy.” She told him, with a bright big smile. |

| They met at that park after work each night thereafter. Lingering at the park until dusk, he naturally invited her over and he began to cook for her with passion. Falling in love re-ignited the emotional response that he always had for food - she was his muse. So they married and began entertaining at home. | Paolo Volpati-Kedra, Culinary Founder and President of Sauces ‘n Love, Inc. came to the United States from Italy to study at Boston University over a decade ago. One day while he was walking his dog (his beloved boxer, Madeo) in the park, he met Tessa walking her dog, (our favorite English bulldog named Divine). Tessa Edick, Founder, matched her branding savvy and marketing talent with Paolo’s delectable palate and financial prowess to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and build a small local company into a nationally recognized brand. |

| Six years ago the company began with a few authentic Italian recipes, the distribution of weekly menus to the neighborhood offering different sauces daily, and the love and care of an Italian who sees cooking as an art. The idea quickly caught on locally with a door to door delivery service, so Tessa & Paolo did some market research, wrote a business plan, got investors, opened a commercial kitchen, out grew it in one year, moved to Somerville, MA and tripled the growth shortly there after, doubling revenues year after year. |

| Today Sauces ‘n Love Fresh Homemade Pasta Sauces are sold nationally and internationally to gourmet, all natural and specialty markets, distributors, prepared food departments and caterers as well as the gift industry and for private labeling products. The commercial kitchen is located in Massachusetts at Union Square in Somerville, and prepares fresh sauces and Italian products daily. |

Spreads & Dips as well as Industrial Foodservice sauces for meat, fish, pasta and beyond. All of our products are offered for sale to retail, wholesale, private label, foodservice, gift basket sales and corporate gift packages. |
